Last week, Tec D Malaysia, in collaboration with AMD, Autodesk, HP, Microsoft, and Windows 11 Pro, successfully hosted a full-day seminar titled "Menuju Bandar Pintar Berinformasi: Menghubungkan Data, BIM, Reka Bentuk dan Pembangunan Digital."
With the government’s mandate to implement Building Information Modelling (BIM) for all public sector construction starting 1 July 2025, the energy in the room was palpable. Attendees were eager to align with the latest mandates and discover the technologies that will power this transition.

Key Takeaways from the Seminar:
1. The Roadmap to BIM Maturity We were honored to have Sr. Nazir Muhamad Nor (CIDB-EC) and Ir. Ts. Faiz Shapiai (Senior Director, JKR Malaysia) shared their expertise. They walked us through the government’s 15-year journey—from conceptualization to Proof of Concept (POC)—advocating for a robust digital framework that is now ready for prime time. Autodesk duo, Ar. Sagar & Lutfil with Naadhirah from Tec D Malaysia gave an overall preview of how Autodesk family of products can help the public sector to achieve the government BIM mandate.
2. Hardware Built for Heavy Lifting HP and AMD showcased the future of workstation power.
The Powerhouse: The latest HP Workstations powered by AMD Ryzen Threadripper, supporting up to 4 GPUs and 1TB DDR5 ECC Memory. Essential for handling complex BIM datasets without breaking a sweat.
Precision Output: The DesignJet T950 and DesignJet XL 3800 Multifunction Printer demonstrated stunning clarity (up to 2400 x 1200 optimized dpi), proving that whether it's CAD lines, maps, or 3D renders, precision is non-negotiable.
3. Securing the AI Era As we adopt digital tools, security is paramount. Microsoft addressed the critical challenges of Generative AI, including data leakage and compliance. They introduced Microsoft Purview—a unified platform covering Information Protection, DLP, and Insider Risk Management—allowing organizations to govern data effectively while safely leveraging AI tools like Copilot.
We are committed to bridging the gap between the public and private sectors to move Malaysia to the next level of smart development.

Thank you to everyone who joined us!
