Released March 31, 2026 · Autodesk Official

Autodesk released Navisworks 2027 on March 31, 2026, and this release has one clear focus: fixing what slowed teams down. Rather than introducing new headline technology, the Navisworks team has gone deep on modernizing the look and feel, rebuilding the Clash Detective from the ground up, and addressing a long list of customer-reported issues. For BIM managers, coordination leads, and construction teams working with complex federated models every day, this is a release built squarely around the work they actually do.
Here's What you need to know
1.Clash Detective — Completely Rebuilt from the Ground Up
The biggest change in Navisworks 2027 is a full redesign of the Clash Detective — one of the most used tools in the entire product. The user interface has been overhauled with new icons, a cleaner layout, and a reorganized structure that replaces the old Rules, Results, and Reports tabs with dedicated windows and a single right panel in the Results window covering Items, Details, and Display settings. The Select tab contents have been merged into the main window, reducing the number of clicks needed to get things done. This is the update BIM managers have been waiting for — a tool used on every coordination project finally brought up to modern standards.
2.Clash Test Folders — Organize Hundreds of Tests at Once
For teams managing large coordination models with dozens or hundreds of clash tests, Navisworks 2027 delivers a long-overdue organizational upgrade. Clash tests can now be grouped into folders, with Reset, Compact, Update, and Delete all operable at the folder level. Clash results roll up to the folder level automatically, making it easy to see new clashes within a folder without opening each test individually. Clash tests and folders can be reordered via drag and drop. Multi-selection using Ctrl or Shift is now supported. When deleting single or multiple clash tests, a confirmation dialog is shown to prevent accidental deletions. For BIM managers running complex multi-discipline coordination workflows, this brings a level of structure and control that simply wasn't possible before. https://help.autodesk.com/view/NAV/2027/ENU/
3.Clash Reports Now Show UTC or Local Timezone
A small but significant improvement for international project teams — clash reports in Navisworks 2027 can now display date and time values in either UTC or the user's local timezone. This removes a persistent source of confusion when teams across different time zones are reviewing clash reports, coordinating issue resolution, or logging project milestones. It is the kind of practical fix that makes a real difference in day-to-day coordination workflows.
4.Modernized UI — New Icons, Color Pickers, and Edit Mode
Navisworks 2027 rolls out a comprehensive UI refresh across the ribbon and several dialogs with updated icons throughout. Color pickers now use RGB values by default, and custom colors are saved between sessions — no more re-entering the same colors every time you open the product. The Sets and Saved Viewpoints windows now have an edit mode, allowing sets and viewpoints to be selected without becoming activated in the Scene View and Selection Tree. This is a meaningful usability improvement for teams doing detailed model reviews. The Properties window also gets an upgrade — differences between properties are now highlighted directly in the window, making it faster to spot inconsistencies across elements.
5.SpaceMouse Support Significantly Improved
Navisworks 2027 brings a comprehensive set of improvements for teams using 3Dconnexion SpaceMouse devices for 3D model navigation. SpaceMouse devices are now controlled by the 3DxWare driver rather than being managed internally by Navisworks, improving compatibility and stability. Navigation speed is now more controlled and responsive. The fit button now fits only the active selection to the view rather than the entire model. Auto pivot point support has been added — when a whole model is in view, the pivot centers on the model; when partially in view, the pivot moves to the closest visible point. The ISO1 and ISO2 buttons now work correctly, transforming the view into a fixed orthographic direction with the selected item framed. QuickZoom is also now available, zooming and centering the model below the mouse cursor.
6.Performance — Faster NWD Loading and Scripter Stability
Large model performance gets a boost in Navisworks 2027. Loading large or complex NWD files into Assemble has been significantly improved. The Scripter and Animator plug-ins are no longer treated as legacy plug-ins, which was causing unexpected product closures when opening Navisworks — a fix that will immediately benefit teams using animation and scripting in their coordination workflows. The Coordination Issues Add-In has also been updated to fully support Navisworks 2027, including clash highlighting in Model Coordination for issues created from Clash Detective.
What's Been Removed
Before upgrading, check your workflow against this change:
The Tilt window has been removed. Tilt can still be applied using the Edit Viewpoint dialog box and the mouse scroll wheel in Walk mode.
MrSID file format support has been removed from the Map 3D 2027 Toolset.
Navisworks 2027 is a focused, practical release. It doesn't chase big new features — it fixes what matters most to the people who use Navisworks every day. The rebuilt Clash Detective alone makes this worth the upgrade for any coordination-heavy team. The UI modernization, folder organization for clash tests, SpaceMouse improvements, and performance fixes round out a release that is built entirely around real workflow needs.
